ABOUT DE JOURNAL

The Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología (RCG) was created in July 1985 and is the official journal of the Asociación Colombiana de Gastroenterología (ACG), a non-profit organization. It is published quarterly in the months of March, June, September and December and is covered by Resolution 001940 of June 4, 1987 issued by the Ministry of Government and the articles must be prepared according to the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Vancouver Group), which were updated in December 2019 and are available at http://www.icmje.org/about-icmje/faqs/icmje-recommendations/

The RCG publishes original unpublished articles on medical topics, particularly articles on basic and clinical research, review articles and case reports related to the fields of gastroenterology, digestive endoscopy, coloproctology, hepatology and its different or related medical subspecialties. Articles are published only after approval of the Editorial Committee. Clinical practice guidelines, management protocols and evidence - based consensus and letters to the editor written in Spanish can be submitted to the Journal to be considered for publication. The Journal will not publish narrative reviews of the literature, except if they are requested in a timely manner.

All works submitted to the review must be previously unpublished. Papers that have been previously published will not be accepted. Authors should not submit papers that partially or substantially reproduce texts that have been previously published, even if they were in other languages. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to a peer review process conducted by experts in each field and its methodology. This process is anonymous: the only people who know the identities of both the author and the reviewers are the editors of the magazine. The review process contemplates the use of the Ithenticate, similarity software as plagiarism detection tool. Total or partial reproduction of any article previously published elsewhere must have the approval of the Editor and credit to the original publication must be given in the Review. The Review is aimed at professionals, specialists and students related to the specialties mentioned above. It is edited in the city of Bogotá, D.E., Colombia.

The abbreviated title is Rev. colomb. Gastroenterol. that should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic legends.

FINANCING POLICY

The Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología is the body of scientific publication of the Colombian Association of Gastroenterology, who is the entity that finances the publication and finances all of its operating costs. It is the Colombian Gastroenterology Association that negotiates and establishes the advertising guidelines published in the journal. The editorial structure of Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología operates independently of the process of advertising in the journal so it is not subject to conflicts of interest with advertisers.
